What I Love About My House
Inspired by Grace and Janice who have written lovely posts about the happiest aspects of their homes here is my attempt at turning my head from the imperfections of our home and focusing on the things I love about it.
Our house is like an old auntie or grandmother who always is happy to see you. She might have been beautiful once, but now her beauty is more than skin deep. She welcomes all who come here whether people, birds or flowers and all are encouraged to spread their wings and put up their feet. It is a sacred place where certain guests are not invited, such as television for example. Good smells come from the kitchen and the garden. Books are stacked up in all sorts of places waiting their turn to be read, knitting projects await attention in many corners and baskets. Flowers are always welcome and left to engulf whatever they are growing on. Fires warm and uplift spirits from the old fireplace all winter long and the back porch beacons with its sea view and sunshine all summer.

You have a very beautiful and welcoming home! Whenever I visit I feel totally at home there - I could stay forever, but my family might have something to say about it, and eventually you would too...lol!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, it is beautiful - I love the old cozy feel of it. As you said like a dear old auntie or granny - and they always make you feel welcome and want to give you a big hug!
Greetings!
ReplyDeleteI am following your blog as I found it through the Gardener's Cottage.
