Slow Going
I haven't quite recovered my knitting habit since last year when it all got put aside during the purging and subsequent move. I used to knit for a couple hours each morning without fail. I am trying to get back into it because I really do love it and I think its a great stress-buster. This is a new pattern from Laura Chau. Its called Pekoe and its part of a four pattern collection called Afternoon Tea Volume 1. All the patterns in this collection look great and I am planning to also knit Samovar and Oolong. But I was really attracted to this pattern for a good summer knit. I am using Euroflax Linen in natural which I had on hand. It is not the yarn called for in the pattern and I know I am going to get quite a different end product due to the drape of linen but I'm optimistic about it. If all goes according to plan I will be wearing it to a friend's wedding in August.
It looks goegeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm a afraid I will lose my knitting mojo from all these tea cozies, I think when I'm done the last one I won't promise her anymore for awhile. I don't enjoy pressure knitting. I started an afghan for myself along with a shawl and they just sit there. Most days I would prefer not to knit, especially as the weather warms up. I used to knit dish cloths when I was losing my mojo but I am committed to not spending money on yarn. I just have to take it slow.
I have a ruffle scarf to knot for a PIFH and I need to knot it by Friday, now to find the time to sit down and knit. Because of the yarn I'd rather not stop once I start, but it only takes an hour and a half.
Its hard to get the ball rolling again once you've stopped your routine. I like the idea of dish cloths and I'd love to knit myself a collection of them in linen. I've had enough pressure knitting for a while - I hear ya.
